I trained in Liverpool with The Reader Organisation in January 2015. I came home and trialled shared reading in diverse NZ communities including Auckland Regional Womens Correctional Facility , Selwyn Village and Auckland libraries.
Transitioning out from university library work into the community is great. It is amazing to meet so many new people in the charity and public library sectors who are excited to learn about shared reading.
Training up new Reader Leaders and supporting them on their journey is marvellous.
I love seeing the joy and creativity that grows within a group.
Each shared reading session is a unique weaving together of our stories with classic literature, a new creation.
