In October… in a galaxy far far away… Danny and I were lucky enough to attend “Train the Trainer” funded by Tracy Martin via the Lottery Minister’s discretionary fund. The Reader Organisation in Liverpool is the rebel alliance of shared reading and Clare is our Yoda. This was an incredible opportunity for us to learn from the best and make new friends.
Clare has been a wonderful and generous teacher and Megg hosted us at her house which we are also very grateful for (especially the 5 star meals). This training enables us to provide professional development to all our new volunteers in-house ensuing our sustainability.
We currently have two trainings booked in for volunteers, November 2018 (which is full) and February 2019 (which has a few spaces left)
Splice, a wonderful charity in the central city are also training up two of their volunteers to host a group held in Mandarin which we are very excited about as this is something new for us.
We also have a training course booked in January for incendiary South Island revolutionary library revolutionaries.
We look forward to serving all these communities by empowering volunteers with Read to lead as a kickstarter and ongoing peer support to fuel the flame.
Thanks again to The Reader Organisation for your inspiring work!
¡Viva la revolución!
