Nelson Librarians Read to Lead

In January we were lucky enough to be invited by Alyson Baker from Nelson Libraries to train 11 librarians (and one psychiatrist) from Nelson, Tasman and Westland with the 3 day Read to Lead course. We wish to thank the libraries and LIANZA for funding this professional development for staff who came to work the next day “still buzzing” according to Alyson.
We were hosted in the beautiful historic Broadgreen House surrounded by stunning rose gardens and trees. Despite the heat our librarians came with open minds and tackled the experiential learning with brio. We are so proud of the Reader Leaders they have become and excited to hear all about their shared reading journeys.
During Read to Lead it is easy to become inspired when you discover the outcomes you can get for your communities. We are also still buzzing and inspired from the energy this group has and looking forward to sharing with you their stories as Shared Reading kicks off in the South Island!
